What is a School Counselor?
The school counselor helps students deal with various issues affecting their lives and academic progress. Counselors provide classroom lessons on topics such as study skills, conflict management, friendship and career exploration.  The counselor consults with parents, teachers and outside agencies to help the student and family.

The counselor offers small group and individual counseling. Some of the topics may focus on making good decisions, getting along with peers and handling frustration. Support groups focus on family changes such as divorce, moving, incarceration, and the illness or death of a loved one.

The counselor is available to help your child have a productive and successful school year at World Cultures.   Mrs. Jolene Yang can be reached at 651-778-3211 or jolene.yang@spps.org.
