Minnesota Reading Corps (MRC) is an AmeriCorps program that provides trained literacy tutors for children age three to grade three. This year, WCMS has four literacy tutors working with students. Elizabeth Barry is embedded in the Early Childhood classroom, providing literacy training for that classroom. Esther Bankole, Tessa Johanson, and Jodi Vitale work in one-on-one sessions with many Kindergarten through 3rd graders to improve their reading skills. Jackie Keaveny is the volunteer coordinator for this program.
