| | | | | District Student Tech Showcase 2006 | | | | WCMS 2nd graders show off their projects | On May 31, five 2nd graders did a wonderful job showing off their
projects at the District's Student
Showcase. The students created an Appleworks Presentation showing how
communities fit into larger communities. They modeled the project after
the book Zoom. One of the tools they used was the ProScope, a digital microscope. They also used digital cameras and laptop computers.
At the Student Showcase, the 2nd graders pulled people into the booth
area (sometimes literally) and excitedly explained their projects. One of the
highlights was having the new superintendent, Dr. Meria Carstarphen, visit our booth.
Special thanks to 2nd grade teachers Patty Thiets and Marilyn Nolan for
assisting in the work, to the parents of our participants, and to all
the 2nd graders for working so hard on this new project.
