 | | The potluck feast | The Big Event Celebration took place on May 2, 2005. This was a wonderful celebration of the WCMS students' work with an emphasis on science projects and art-literature pieces. At an afternoon Circle Time, kindergarteners played percussion instruments, a 5th grade group of girls sang a contemporary Hmong song, and the 4th graders performed  | | 6th grade artwork | "Fifty Nifty United States." During the evening event, the WCMS Drum Group played in the lobby while family members toured the classrooms to see student work. In the gym, there were beautiful art displays as well as hands-on science and art make-and-take projects. Later, everyone got together for a delicious pot-luck dinner in the Circle  | | 5th grade Science Fair projects | Room, while video of the Hmong dancers was shown. Thanks to all the students, families, and staff members for their participation in The Big Event. Special thanks to Mr. Boyken for leading the science aspects, Mr. Lee for arranging the pot-luck dinner, and Ms. Dorow for spearheading the artwork and coordinating the celebration.
