| | | | | We Are World Cultures Magnet School! | | | | Academic Coach Bobbie Evangelist and Principal Mary Weyandt | World Cultures Magnet School features an academic program that
emphasizes students’ understanding of cultures through the study of
history, geography, and customs. Throughout the academic program,
students learn about cultures of the world and develop an appreciation
for diversity. The school features a World Cultures Resource Center.
The Culture Resource specialist works with classroom teachers to
integrate the cultural learning with our school's strong academic
curriculum through the use of artifacts, literature, maps, software,
and historical displays. The school believes that all students can
achieve success. The academic program features schoolwide use of
Writers Workshop, Readers Workshop, and Everyday Math. To facilitate
these programs, the school uses grade level teams which includes two
homeroom teachers and a shared ELL teacher. This collaborative approach
provides a smaller student-teacher ratio at each grade | | 3rd grade teacher Mrs. Butchee (right) visits with students and their parents. | level and helps
