| Artist in Residence work with Kimberly Morgan | | Kimberly Morgan is a professional actor and choreographer. She comes to us from the Vocal Essence Witness Program. The Witness theme is the life of Rosa Parks. We have been preparing for her week with us through studying music of the Civil Rights movement, history of both the Civil War era and Civil Rights era. We have examined other notable events during the 1950's-1960's as well. | | Ms. Kimberly Morgan, professional actor & choreographer | We are working on Memoir and a bit of poetry as well in our writing. We have read "The Watson's Go to Birmingham-1963" and we have seen that play as well. We will showcase our work with Kimberly Morgan both at African American Parent Involvement Day and the World Cultures Culture Fair on February 22nd at 6pm. All of this work will culminate in a concert by Vocal Essence at the Ordway Theater | | experimenting in showing mood through body language | in St. Paul on February 27th. The theme for our work with Kimberly Morgan has been "overcoming adversity."
